CONTACT July 2003 Newsletter for the Parishes of HOLLESLEY ALL SAINTS' & BOYTON with CAPEL From The Rectory, We are now well into the season of the fete, but not a fete worse than death! I shall have been to a good many by the time the summer is over and it will be nice to get to see everyone. Not only is the fete a good time to get together and have some fun but it is also a fun way to raise money. Sadly the church is always in need of money, in the case of Hollesley about £50 per day to keep it open and Boyton about £17 per day. At the time of writing, we have not yet had the Hollesley Fete and the Boyton fete is not until the end of August, but all the same, I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who will be helping make the fetes a success. And thank you for your continuing support for the village church, dont forget it is yours; use it or lose it as they say. Yours Geoffrey For services this month click on July Services NEWS FROM HOLLESLEY PRIMARY SCHOOL We have just finished an extremely busy period at Hollesley Primary School. Years Six and Two have recently completed their SATS tests, in which the children tried very hard and should produce pleasing results. We also have a new Deputy Headteacher at the school in the form of Darren Morgan from Manchester. Before we break up for summer we have lots of exciting things planned, including cycling proficiency training, sports day and various trips, galas and activities. Friends of Hollesley have organised a camping activity for the weekend of the 5th and 6th July. We are delighted that the first phase of our building work has now been completed. This has given us a lovely, large new classroom, two new storage cupboards and a ramp at the front of the school, as well as a chance to refurbish one of the other classrooms. Visitors tell us that it looks like a completely new school! Watch out for the grand opening on Thursday 17th July.
